City of Atlanta City Council met April 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

OPEN: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held remotely from the Atlanta City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor McVey at 7:30pm.

ROLL CALL:  

                  Colaw-P                                                       Dreyer-P

                                                                                       Cheek-P

                  Young-P                                                       Evans-P

 

Motion by Cheek second by Evans to approve the minutes as presented.

                                                                                                Motion Carries.

Motion by Dreyer second by Cheek to pay all bills or as far as money allows.

Melanie Blankenship asked about the Opt out process from electric aggregation. Information will be given tomorrow.                                      

The Mayor brought up salaries for the coming year. The Mayor went over the salaries employees first giving them a $700 increase.

Most part time employees will be governed by minimum wage going forward.

Motion by Colaw second by Evans to approve the wage increased as presented.

The Mayor made the appointment of Keith Eimer as Ward II Alderman to replace Chris Thomas.

Motion by Dreyer second by Cheek to accept the appointment of Keith Eimer as Ward II Alderman.

                                                                                               Motion Carries.

Alderman Colaw recommended a discounted water rate due to the pandemic. He outlined how this might work.

The Mayor felt that some figures should be put together and discussed further. Options were made that could be used to spur retail business.

Young asked where the planters were that will be serviced by Traci Walters, locations were given.

He also asked what happened with the laundromat survey. Not all areas had been returned but many were favorable.

The Mayor reported that the Memorial Day events were cancelled, and that Clean-up day had been postponed.

Motion by Evans second Cheek to adjourn the meeting.
