Village of Divernon Board of Trustees Met Feb. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Village of Divernon Board of Trustees was held at the Masonic Lodge. After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance, Mayor Pro Tem Larry Baer called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Clerk Rod Molnar called roll: Larry Baer “Here”, Craig Busch “Here”, Melissa Layton “Here”, Wayne Jones “Here”, Gail Hedges “Here”, Tyler Bramley “Here”. Also in attendance was Superintendent Jeremy Rhodes. Jim Copelin was absent.

A motion was made by Hedges and seconded by Layton to approve the minutes of January 27, 2021. The motion passed 5-0.

Baer presented the Village bills with a motion to approve after adding a credit card invoice from Tuff-Flags for $173.09. Hedges seconded and the motion carried 5-0.

Visitors:

Chuck Apgar was in attendance but had no business to bring before the Board. Supervisor Reports:

Public Works:

Superintendent Rhodes informed the Board that Mike Bolash had volunteered to repair the manger scene that is placed in front of the Village Hall each Christmas. It is very old and needs a lot of work.

Police:

Nothing to report.

Committee Reports:

Zoning, TIF, Building Permits:

Busch reported on the webinar with Nextsite and Ameren regarding creating business opportunities for the Village. Ryan McCrady is recommending a county wide plan.

Public Utilities, Water, Sewer and Gas:

Nothing to report.

Finance, Personnel, GIS:

Baer reported Treasurer Amanda Kessler has notified Mayor Copelin she will be leaving at the end of the fiscal year. Baer and Copelin has started working towards finding a replacement.

Public Safety, Health and Safety:

Layton reported she has been in contact with Flowers Sanitation. Their contract with the Village expires on April 30, 2021. Another company has also shown interest in the contract. She also has dates set for the annual cleanup day and an electronic recycling day. She attended the latest meeting of the Neighborhood Watch program. Bramley will get some quotes on having the Village sprayed for mosquitos this summer. Rhodes will see if his crew can do the work.

Public Works, Streets, Alleys and Sidewalks:

Nothing to report.

Village Communication/Building Grounds and Lights, Parks:

Nothing to report.

Old Business:

Busch gave an update on the Divy Block Party scheduled for July 10, 2021.New Business:

None.

A motion was made by Bramley to adjourn at 7:19 p.m.
