Village of Chatham Village Board met Feb. 23.

Call to Order and Announcements
Mayor Kimsey called the meeting to order, requested a moment of silence and asked everyone to join him in reciting the pledge of allegiance. Roll call was taken. Mayor Kimsey extended his thanks to Craig Knapp and Ethan Manning for their support with the village’s K9 unit and crime prevention programs. Mayor Kimsey also read a thanks received from the U.S. Census Bereau.
Consent Agenda - Approval of the Warrants (Res. 05-21) and Minutes from February 9, 2021
A motion was made by Trustee Scherschel and seconded by Trustee Gerger to approve the consent agenda. Motion to approve the consent agenda was passed unanimously.
New Business
A Resolution Confirming the Appointment of Craig Olson to the Properties & Recreation Commission for the Village of Chatham (Res. 06-21)
A motion was made by Trustee Gerger and seconded by Trustee Scherschel to approve the appointment of Craig Olson to the Properties & Recreation Commission. Motion was approved unanimously.
An Ordinance Extending Certain Liquor Licenses through May 31, 2021 and Prorating License Fees (Ord. 21-7)
A motion was made by Trustee Gerger and seconded by Trustee Chairo to approve an ordinance extending certain liquor licenses through May 31, 2021 and prorating the license fees. Mayor Kimsey requested a motion to amend this ordinance changing the date from May 31, 2021 to June 30, 2021.
A motion was made by Trustee Scherschel and seconded by Trustee Gerger to amend the ordinance to change the date. Amendment approved unanimously. Motion of ordinance as amended was approved unanimously.
A Resolution Releasing the Letter of Credit for Cardinal Ridge
A motion was made by Trustee Chairo and seconded by Trustee Gerger to approve a resolution releasing the letter of credit for Cardinal Ridge. After discussion, the Board tabled the resolution.
An Ordinance Amending Title III and Title VII of the Village Code Regarding Code Hearings and Penalties for Violations (Ord. 21-8)
A motion was made by Trustee Chairo and seconded by Trustee Gerger to approve an ordinance regarding code hearings and penalties for violations. Code Enforcement Officer Ryan Crawford explained the reason for the requested change regarding the hearing dates. Chief Foli explained the reason for the change regarding the need to streamline the amount for violations. Motion was approved unanimously.
Adjournment
With no further business, Trustee Chairo with a second from Trustee Gerger made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion was unanimously approved by voice vote.
