Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District 5 issued the following announcement on Oct. 4
Titan Fuel would like to extend the invitation to become a Friend of Titan Fuel. Your annual donation will provide food and assistance to a struggling child throughout the year. You can become a Friend of Titan Fuel where your donation of $150 feeds a child every week all school year, or $75 feeds a child for half the school year.
For those who may be unfamiliar with Titan Fuel, it’s a 501c3 organization that was developed in response to changing demographics within the Ball-Chatham School District. The District has seen steady increases in the number of low-income families over the last several years – going from 5.9% in 2000 to 20% now. Titan Fuel assists school families who are struggling to provide enough food on a consistent basis.
Titan Fuel has assists approximately 250 – 275 students per week during the school year. In these difficult times of job loss due to COVID-19, our District families have shown a greater need, and Titan Fuel has answered that need.
Unfortunately, Titan Fuel’s main fundraiser, the Annual Shrimp Boil & BBQ, was not able to be held this summer.
Thank you in advance for your commitment to helping Titan Fuel feed our students. No one person can do all that is needed to serve, but together we can serve all in need. Thank you for working together with Titan Fuel to serve our students.
