Report: Gifford School District spent $11,235 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Gifford Community Consolidated School District 188 was up 11.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Champaign County school district spent $10,094 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,235 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 210 to 167 students over the same period.

Gifford's spending in 2019-20 was 22.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
