Report: Ball-Chatham School District spent $9,165 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District 5 was down 0.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $9,196 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,165 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 4,797 to 4,754 students over the same period.

Ball-Chatham's spending in 2019-20 was 36.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
