City of Athens City Council met Dec. 13.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Chris Reichert opened the meeting @ 8:05 PM and thanked everyone for attending. City Clerk Rhonda Ethel called roll call. In attendance were Mayor Reichert and Aldermen: Amy Chernowsky, Greg Hoffman, Kevin Puma, Nathan Armbruster and Rachel Lantz. All stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Reichert asked for votes on accepting the following report, Public Works, Police Treasury, Cemetery and Office Managers. Motion by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Armbruster motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Reichert then asked for approval of the November 2021 meeting minutes. Motioned by Alderman Chernowsky seconded by Alderman Hoffman. The Motion passed unanimously.
Next Mayor Reichert asked for approval for payment of bills. Motion made by Alderman Chernowsky and seconded by Alderman Hoffman. The motion passed unanimously.
Motion was made by Alderman Lantz and seconded by Alderman Chernowsky to make a donation to Toys for Tots for $1,000 in the Name of Larry Buhr paid from the gaming fund Motion passed unanimously.
Next Mayor Reichert asked for approval of the May 2021 thru April 2022 Tax Levy ordinance. Motion made by Alderman Armbruster seconded by Alderman Puma. Motion passed unanimously.
Next Mayor Reichert asked for approval for purchase of a squad car. Motion made by Alderman Chernowsky and seconded by Alderman Hoffman. Motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Reichert asked for a startup of $28,000 for 2022 for MFT. Motion made by Alderman Hoffman seconded by Alderman Chernowsky. Motion passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 8:16 PM
Mayor Reichert asked for any public comments. Linda Wasilewski commented that bushes were causing vision issues at the stop sign on Jefferson and Polk and Jackson and Polk. Also issues on Lynnwood with trees.
Motion to adjourn by Alderman Hoffman Seconded by Alderman Lantz.
