Report: Midwest Central School District spent $10,178 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Midwest Central Community Unit School District 191 was up 5.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mason County school district spent $9,657 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,178 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 986 to 928 students over the same period.

Midwest Central's spending in 2019-20 was 29.8 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
