Report: Illini Central School District spent $11,490 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Illini Central Community Unit School District 189 was up 4 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mason County school district spent $11,052 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,490 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 761 to 680 students over the same period.

Illini Central's spending in 2019-20 was 20.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
