Report: Fairfield School District spent $11,249 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Fairfield Public School District 112 was up 25.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Wayne County school district spent $8,954 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,249 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 723 to 682 students over the same period.

Fairfield's spending in 2019-20 was 22.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
