Logan County taxpayers paid the 33rd highest amount in sales taxes in 2021, according to Illinois tax records.

Taxpayers in Logan County paid $5.6 million in 2021.

Logan County was ranked 39th the year before.

Of all the taxes Logan County residents paid for, Special County Retailers Occupation Tax was the most contributed to tax.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
