In a recent Facebook post, State Rep. Tim Butler cheered the Illinois Manufacturers' Association’s “Makers on the Move” bus tour across the state.
“The bus tour began a week ago at the College of Lake County’s new Advanced Technology Center, before traveling more than 2,100 miles across the state to raise awareness and excitement about the state’s dynamic manufacturing sector,” the organization stated in a Facebook post Oct. 14.
The tour, which started Oct. 7, concluded Oct. 14 at the State Capitol, and was sponsored by Walmart, Comcast Business and Novelis, according to the Makers on the Move website.
The 20-stop bus tour, according to the association’s post, featured a 56-foot bus that was fully wrapped. During an Oct. 10 stop in Chicago, the “Makers on the Move” visited Howe Corp.
“We are very proud of our industry leadership in providing energy efficient solutions that contribute to our customers sustainability goals as well as our 110-year history in the Chicagoland manufacturing community while providing apprenticeship and internship opportunities,” Tammy Phillips, Howe’s president and CEO said, according to an IMA press release.
