Career Fairs Connect SIUE Students to Potential Employers

The Career Development Center (CDC) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville strives to assist students with resumes, career counseling, networking strategies and mock interviews making sure the students are career ready upon graduation.

Throughout October, the CDC has hosted numerous career fairs, providing a convenient way for employers and students to connect for full-time, co-op and internship opportunities.

“Career fairs provide students a chance to expand their career network and increase the chance to be selected for interview with employers after the event,” said SIUE CDC Director Susan Seibert. “Career fairs provide employers the opportunity to recruit for available positions and to provide students with information about their organization and its workplace culture.”

Disciplines including nursing, information technology, engineering, business and many other fields were represented. Overall, the University welcomed 264 employers to campus with more than 1,000 student participants.
