City of Athens City Council met Dec. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Welcome given by Mayor Reichert. Roll call was taken by Clerk Rhonda Ethell. All Alderman were present. Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to accept the Public Works, Police, Treasury, Cemetery, Library, Vehicles and Office Managers reports. Motion made by Alderman Chernowsky seconded by Alderman Lantz. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to accept the November 2022 Meeting minutes. Motion made by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Hoffman. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion for payment of bills. Motioned made by Alderman Hoffman second by Alderman Puma. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve Motor Fuel Tax Resolution Ordinance #10-2022. Motioned made by Alderman Chernowsky seconded by Alderman Lantz. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve Tax Levy Ordinance for City and Road District 213 Ordinance #11-2022. Motion made by Alderman Hoffman seconded by Alderman Lantz. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve the Business Development District Ordinance #12-2022. Motion made by Alderman Hoffman seconded by Alderman Puma. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve City Council meeting dates for 2023. Motion made by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Chernowsky. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve RMA for Property Insurance Vendor for 2023. Motion made by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Chernowsky. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve purchase of public works equipment not to exceed $4,000 for a sewage camera and leak detector. Motion made by Alderman Tobias seconded by Alderman Hoffman. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve an Ordinance regulating long term parking ordinance 13- 2022. Motion made by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Chernowsky. Motion passed.

Mayor Reichert asked for any public comments.

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to adjourn. Motion made by Alderman Thompson seconded by Alderman Chernowsky. Meeting adjourned at 7:35.
