Q2 2022 Recap: 6 parolees from Sangamon County convicted of crimes against persons set for release

There were six offenders convicted of crimes against persons living in Sangamon County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Sangamon Sun.

The data shows four men and two women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2019, and the oldest was a 49-year-old woman sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Cheilzie F. Taylor. She was convicted in 2019 when she was 24 years old. She is now 27.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
