Village of Greenview Village Board met May 15

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday May 15, 2023. President Kevin Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Pamela Rouse, Elizabeth Soldwedel, Norman Hofmann, Patrick Feagans and Jamie Booth were present. Other village personnel present were John Holt, and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

Several residents were present to ask the board for clarification and to consider amending Ordinance #274 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE RAISING AND FEEDING OF LIVESTOCK OR POULTRY.

John Holt gave the treasurer report. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Rouse to approve the report as presented. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record.

No zoning report.

The minutes from the April 17th, 2023, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Booth to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report Each board member reviewed the bills. A motion was made by Trustee Rouse and seconded by Trustee Booth to approve the payment of all bills. Motion was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

Old Business

1. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Booth to approve payment of up to $500 to Bacon and VanBuskirk to install glass over the new city map in Village Hall. Motion was roll called, Trustee Rouse, Hofmann, Feagans and Booth in favor voted aye. Trustee Soldwedel against voted nay. Motion passed.

2. A motion was made by Trustee Booth and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to accept the donation of the property located at 375 E Washington Street if there were no liens or back taxes due on the property totaling over $1000. No vote was taken and will be put on the next meeting agenda.

3. No vote was taken on the well fence project will be voted on once well is installed.

New Business

1. Discussion was held on possible increase in board pay.

A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Feagans to move into executive session at 8:00 pm to discuss employee issues and candidates’ applications. Executive Session ended at 9:00 pm

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Will be putting on agenda to discuss what to do with North Shed Property. Discussion had on drive-by meter reading system and will putting on the agenda to vote on. Approved the employees to purchase a lawn sweep and no parking signs. Also will be sending out lead/copper line surveys to residents in the very near future.

Trustee Hofmann: Discussion had on property located at 724 N. State Street. Discussion on nuisance complaints received.

Trustee Soldwedel: Discussion regarding website postings.

Trustee Booth: Discussion had on the bid openings for the oil and chipping of roads for the year. Bid opening will be held at 2:00 pm on 05/31/23 at Hutchinson Engineering office.

Trustee Smith: Absent

Trustee Rouse: Discussion on employee insurance and the increase. The insurance committee will be meeting this week to discuss and give the board a recommendation.

Treasurer: Discussion on well project funding and possible funding ideas.

Clerk: Advised board of upcoming days off

President: Received information regarding a possible donation to Marbold Farmstead will be put on the next agenda for a vote.

The meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.

At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Monday June 5th, 2023, at 7:00 pm.
