Special Meeting Minutes

A special meeting of the Village of Divernon Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at the Village Hall. Village President Jim Copelin called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Clerk Gail Hedges called roll: Jim Copelin “Here”, Craig Busch “Here”, Joe Bukantos “Here”, Chuck Apgar “Here”, Randy Olson “Here”, and Dianne Brenning “Here”. Larry Baer was absent. Kenny Reardon was also present.

The purpose of the special meeting is to approve the liquor license for Maddy’s Tavern and also approve the Interim Chief Agreement for Kenny Reardon.

Brenning made a motion, seconded by Olson, to approve the liquor license for Maddy’s Tavern. The motion passed 5-0. Apgar made a comment that this is not the first time that Maddy’s has been late in the submission of liquor license documentation.

Brenning made a motion to go into executive session at 6:05 p.m. Larry Baer arrived at 6:10.

Apgar made a motion to return to special session at 6:25 p.m.

Baer made a motion, seconded by Brenning, to approve the Interim Police Chief Agreement requested by Reardon and authorize a $3.00 per hour increase in pay. The motion passed 6-0. Lisa Powell, visitor, stated she was pleased to have Kenny Reardon as Interim Chief.

The meeting ended with a motion by Apgar at 6:29 p.m.
