The Bennett Public Library is encouraging children and teens to participate in its annual Summer Reading Challenge, which begins on June 1 and runs through August 31. The program aims to foster a love of reading among young people during the summer months.

Participants are invited to sign up at the library or online. Once registered, they can log their reading hours and earn rewards for reaching certain milestones. This year's theme is "Adventure Awaits," designed to inspire exploration through literature.

"The Summer Reading Challenge is one of our most popular programs," said Sarah Johnson, Youth Services Librarian at Bennett Public Library. "It's a great way for kids to stay engaged with books when they're out of school."

In addition to individual reading goals, the library will host various events throughout the summer, including book clubs, storytelling sessions, and craft workshops. These activities aim to complement the reading challenge by providing interactive opportunities for participants.

"We want to create an environment where reading is fun and social," Johnson added. "Our events are designed to bring stories to life and encourage kids to share their experiences with others."

The program concludes with a celebration event in early September, where top readers will be recognized and awarded prizes.

For more information about the Summer Reading Challenge or to register, visit the Bennett Public Library's website or contact their Youth Services Department.
