The Illinois State Fair is approaching, and this year brings a special offer from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA). They are providing two nights of free camping at select state parks for individuals who purchase a 2024 Illinois State Fair admission book online between June 26 and July 3.
Two state parks in the 108th District are included in this "Stay and Play" promotion. The parks participating are Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site and Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area. Information on their camping options can be found on their respective websites.
Additionally, the City of Litchfield is set to receive a $300,000 OSLAD grant for campground development.
