Illinois College wide receiver Collin Brunstein has been named to the third-team preseason All-America squad by D3football.com, the organization announced today.
Brunstein, a senior from Jacksonville, Ill., is coming off one of the greatest receiving seasons in IC history when he led the nation at all levels with 91 catches for 2,200 yards and 31 touchdowns. All three totals were school and Midwest Conference records as well. He also set single-game school records with five touchdown catches against Lawrence and 313 receiving yards against Chicago.
A first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association, Brunstein was also a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and a fourth-team All-American by D3football.com.
Brunstein was a key cog in an offense that set Midwest Conference records for total yards (6,147 – 558.8 yards per game) and points (522 – 47.5 points per game) while helping the squad to the program's first Midwest Conference championship and second NCAA Division III Playoff berth.
