The Illinois College men's tennis team faced two defeats during its opening weekend at the Webster Groves Tennis Center. The Blueboys lost 6-1 to Webster in the morning and then fell 6-1 to Southwestern Illinois College in the afternoon.
Against Webster, the Gorlocks secured the doubles point despite a win from Jeff Wernsing and Glenn Conway at No. 1 doubles. In singles, Webster won five of six matches, with Conway securing the only victory for Illinois College at No. 3 singles.
In their match against Southwestern Illinois, IC was swept in doubles, conceding the first point of the day. Andrus Dupre achieved a win for IC at No. 4 singles.
The Blueboys are set to make their home debut on Wednesday against Millikin, with the first serve scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Bellatti Tennis Complex.
