Lady Blues take third; Blueboys finish sixth at Butts & Dechert Classic

The men's and women's golf teams wrapped up their participation in the Butts & Dechert Classic, a two-day tournament hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. The Lady Blues secured a third-place finish, while the men's team ended in sixth place.

In individual performances for the Lady Blues, Alyvia Burr led with a tie for 14th place overall after shooting rounds of 85 for a total score of 170. Katie Mae Milhiser followed closely with scores of 88 and 85 (173), resulting in a tie for 17th place. Kate Burr finished in 20th place individually with rounds of 86 and 88 (174).

Hannah Harpster concluded the tournament tied for 24th place with scores of 88 and 89 (177), while Amy Fowler placed 34th with rounds of 93 and 95 (188). Overall, the Lady Blues achieved third place among nine competing teams.

For the Blueboys, Jarrett James was the top performer, finishing in 19th place individually with scores of 75 and 77 (152). Kacee Fulkerson scored one-over-par at an opening round of 72 and an additional round of 81 to secure a tie for 20th place. Peter Hauser's performance included a final round score of two-over-par at 73, earning him a spot at number twenty-three. Samuel Frericks opened with five-over-par at round one but concluded with an overall tie for thirty-fifth after scoring an eighty-five on his final day.

Looking ahead, the Lady Blues are set to compete next at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship from October eighth through tenth at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, Illinois.
