Illinois College women's swim team competes on Day 1 of MWC Championships

The Illinois College women's swim team participated in the first day of the Midwest Conference championships held at the Russell K. Osgood Pool in Grinnell, Iowa. The Lady Blues are currently positioned eighth with a total of 49 points after the initial day's events.

One of the notable performances came from the 400-yard medley relay team comprising Jenna Kenning, Julia Edwards, Emma Dunsworth, and Jena Sellers, who secured seventh place with a time of 4:22.06.

Additionally, another relay team consisting of Jena Sellers, Lauren Sinclair, Cassie Reeve, and Jenna Kenning competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay. They achieved the fourth-fastest time in school history and finished eighth with a time of 1:45.58.

Individually, Jena Sellers also made her mark by finishing 14th in the 50-yard freestyle final with a time of 25.78 seconds.

The championships will continue tomorrow.
