Deja Anderson secured an individual title and led a relay team to a second-place finish at the Rose-Hulman Twilight event, showcasing the Illinois College women's track and field team's capabilities. Anderson triumphed in the 200 meters with a time of 26.06 seconds. She also joined forces with Mattie Brown, Mady Salisbury, and Haley Garrett for a second-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, clocking in at 48.15 seconds.
In other track events, Aleese Trimingham achieved second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.73 seconds and third place in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:08.71. Haley Garrett finished third in the 100 meters with a time of 13.00 seconds, followed closely by Fynesse Jones who placed fourth at 13.06 seconds. Apiphany Patterson secured fifth place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.74.
Field events saw Sydney Kuper earning second place in both the hammer throw and discus, with throws measuring 45.11 meters and 37.83 meters respectively. In pole vaulting, Maddie Benson cleared 3.28 meters to take second place while Paige Nowak was third with a vault of 3.13 meters.
Fynesse Jones also achieved her second fourth-place finish of the night in the long jump with a leap of 5.01 meters.
The Illinois College team will next compete at the Millikin Friday Night Invite in Decatur, Illinois.
