The Illinois College women's track and field team showcased strong performances at the Spartan Shootout held at the University of Dubuque. The Lady Blues secured third place in the team standings, accumulating 76.5 points.
Senior Paige Nowak achieved a personal record (PR) by tying for first place in the pole vault with a leap of 3.20 meters. Mattie Brown delivered notable results, posting the fourth-best time in Illinois College history for the 60 meters with an 8.08 finish and securing fifth place in the 200 meters with a time of 26.98.
Deja Anderson tied her PR in the 60 meters, clocking an 8.04, which maintains her position as fifth all-time in school history. She also earned second place in the long jump with a distance of 5.25 meters.
Aleese Trimingham finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.93 seconds, while contributing to the third-place finish of the 4 x 400-meter relay team alongside Apiphany Patterson, Maddie Benson, and Brooke Oakley, who completed their race in 4:22.54.
Haley Garrett claimed fourth place in the 200 meters with a time of 26.97 seconds. In distance events, Kairy Mercado-Ramos and Morgan Carrino placed fourth and fifth respectively in the 3,000 meters with times of 12:18.67 and 12:21.18.
Maddie Benson tied for fourth place in pole vaulting with a height of 3.05 meters, while Sydney Kuper finished fifth in weight throw achieving a mark of 14.04 meters.
The Illinois College women's track team will next compete at home during the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.
