The Illinois College men's and women's cross country teams commenced their season at Illinois Wesleyan. The men's team secured an eighth-place finish among ten teams, while the women's team had four individual participants.
Elgin Scherff led the Blueboys, completing the three-mile race in 16:48.83, securing 38th place out of over 100 runners. Devin Boggs followed with a time of 17:12.57, finishing in 51st place.
For the Lady Blues, Elizabeth Ruvalcaba led by finishing the two-mile race in 13:36.30, earning her a 37th place finish. Zoey Lewis was close behind with a time of 13:38.14, placing her in 39th position.
Both teams are preparing for their next competition at the University of Illinois Springfield on Friday, September 10 at 5:30 PM.
