The Illinois College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Greenville Classic on Friday evening. The men's team secured a third-place finish among eight teams, while the women's team finished sixth out of seven teams.

Elgin Scherff led the Blueboys with a fifth-place overall finish, completing the race in 26:39.43. Devin Boggs followed closely with a seventh-place finish at 26:57.45. Additional top performers for IC included Will Detmer, who placed 19th (27:40.68), Eduardo Fulgencio in 28th place (28:32.15), and Nick Hannig finishing 30th (28:35.31).

For the Lady Blues, Ashley Orrick was the top finisher, placing 28th overall with a time of 22:37.75. Kairy Mercado-Ramos came next for IC, finishing in 33rd place with a time of 23:01.52, followed by Claire Peters in 35th place (23:08.52), Ashley Drake in 45th place (26:08.13), and Maddie Murphy in 50th place (30:09.52).

Both teams are preparing for their next competition at the Midwest Conference Championship hosted by Monmouth College on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 AM.
