The Illinois College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Bradley Intercollegiate Invite in Peoria, Illinois, on Friday. The men's team secured a fifth-place finish among nine competing teams, while four individual athletes represented the women's team.
Devin Boggs led the men's team with a 33rd place finish, completing the race in 26:48.7. Elgin Scherff followed closely behind in 35th place with a time of 26:58.8, and Will Detmer finished in 47th place with a time of 27:47.8. Notably, both Boggs and Scherff became the first runners from Illinois College to complete an 8K race in under 27 minutes.
For the women's team, Kairy Mercado-Ramos was the leading runner, finishing in 37th place with a time of 21:58.1. Claire Peters completed her run with a time of 22:44.4.
Both teams are set to compete next at the Aurora Invite on Saturday, October 1st, at 11:00 AM.
