The Illinois College men's tennis team began their 2024 season with a double-header at Principia College. The Blueboys managed to secure a win against Simpson College with a score of 5-4 but were defeated by the host, Principia College, in straight sets.

In the first match against Simpson College, Illinois College took an early lead in doubles matches. Grayson Dupre and Andrus Dupre won their No. 2 doubles match with an 8-6 victory. Momir Vickovic and Antonio Loaiza also contributed by winning their doubles match by default. In singles play, A. Dupre and Vickovic both secured victories in straight sets, while the overall match was clinched through a default win in the No. 6 singles.

The second match saw Illinois College facing Principia College, where they encountered strong competition and lost all matches. Jeff Wernsing and Glenn Conway competed in the No. 1 doubles match but were defeated after four sets with a score of 4-8. Similarly, Vickovic and Loaiza played two sets but ended up losing 2-8.

In singles competition against Principia, Conway achieved four set victories but narrowly lost with a score of 4-6. A. Dupre managed two set victories but fell short at 2-6.

Looking ahead, the Blueboys are scheduled to host Southwestern Illinois College and Kaskaskia College on Saturday, March 13 at Bellatti Tennis Complex.
