The Illinois College cheer and dance teams have successfully advanced to the National Cheer Association (NCA) and National Dance Alliance (NDA) Collegiate Cheer & Dance Championship. The teams achieved this milestone after competing in a regional event held at Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri.
During the competition, the Illinois College cheer team secured third place among six teams, while the dance team finished fourth. Both groups were recognized as the Most Spirited Team in their respective categories.
"The IC cheer and dance team worked very hard at the NCA and NDA camp. Their strength, energy, and outstanding skills were an essential part in their performances. (Head Cheer Coach) Autumn Brown and I are very proud and excited to prepare for competition in April," stated Samantha Laster, Head Dance Coach & Director of Spirit Teams.
The national championship is scheduled to take place from April 3-7, 2019, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Fans can watch the Lady Blues perform throughout the season during home football games as well as men's and women's basketball games.
