The Illinois College men's swimming team had a mixed performance at the IC Winter Double Dual, held on Saturday at the Coultas Natatorium in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Blueboys emerged victorious against Beloit College with a score of 98-85 but were defeated by Millikin University, who scored 133 to Illinois College's 92.
Tristan Pottebaum secured a win for the team in the 100-yard freestyle event, finishing with a time of 56.10 seconds. James Hammond also claimed victory in the 500-yard freestyle, completing it in 5:44.07.
The team excelled in relay events as well. The quartet consisting of Hammond, Cooper Meyer, Eli Eberle, and Pottebaum won both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay with times of 1:48.72 and 1:37.68 respectively.
Before the competition began, Illinois College celebrated Senior Day by honoring their only senior member, Brice Montout.
Following this meet, Illinois College will take a break for the holidays and is scheduled to return to competition on January 19th at the Illinois Wesleyan University Tri Meet in Bloomington, Illinois.
