The Illinois College baseball team concluded its weekend Midwest Conference series against Cornell College on Sunday at Joe Brooks Field in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Blueboys were defeated by the Rams with a final score of 1-12. This loss moves Illinois College to an overall record of 20-13 and 7-10 in conference play.

Adam Passmore was responsible for IC's only run, hitting a solo home run in the fifth inning. Starting pitcher Branson Shaw began the game strong, pitching a scoreless first inning with two strikeouts. However, the Rams took an early lead in the second inning with an RBI double by Seth Beals.

The game remained tight as both teams' pitchers held each other scoreless until Passmore's homer tied it at one each in the fifth inning. Following a scoreless sixth, Cornell surged ahead with 11 runs across the last three innings, securing their victory.

Logan Schweigert led IC in hits with two, while Passmore contributed significantly with his solo home run. Shaw pitched for 6.2 innings, striking out four batters but ultimately received the loss.

Illinois College is set to face Knox College on Tuesday, April 23rd at Joe Brooks Field for their next game.
