The Lady Blues established an early lead, scoring 11 points to Fontbonne's 3 within the first five minutes and maintaining control throughout the game. By the end of the first quarter, Illinois College had outscored their opponents 18-3. The momentum continued into the second quarter, resulting in a halftime lead of 38-14.
Illinois College's most significant scoring came during the third quarter when they outpaced Fontbonne 23-8, leading to their comfortable win.
