Illinois College volleyball falls to Rose-Hulman in invitational opener

The Illinois College women's volleyball team faced a setback in their opening match of the Rose-Hulman Invitational, losing to the host team, Rose-Hulman. The Lady Blues were defeated in straight sets with scores of 21-25, 16-25, and 14-25. This result brings Illinois College's season record to 6 wins and 9 losses.

Riley Drake stood out for the Lady Blues by achieving eight kills during the match. Despite her efforts, the team managed only a .120 hitting percentage. In contrast, Rose-Hulman committed just nine attacking errors and achieved a hitting percentage of .263. Summer Brandis led the team in assists with 13, while Kahli O'Neal contributed an additional 10 assists.

The Lady Blues are scheduled to continue their participation in the Rose-Hulman Invitational with upcoming matches against Saint Mary's College at 11 am and Anderson University at 3 pm.
