Illinois College splits matches at Duhawk Classic

Illinois College women's volleyball team participated in the Duhawk Classic at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. The Lady Blues secured a victory against Wartburg College but were defeated by Wisconsin-La Crosse, resulting in a split outcome for their matches.

The Lady Blues now have a season record of 3-5 following these games.

In the match against Wartburg, Illinois College came from behind after losing the first set to win three consecutive sets. Ella Ausmus led with 13 kills, while Ligaya Garibay contributed 11 kills. Kahli O'Neal had 24 assists, and Summer Brandis added 18.

The second match of the evening saw Illinois College facing Wisconsin-La Crosse. Despite winning the first two sets, they lost in a five-set battle against the Eagles. Ligaya Garibay again led with 15 kills, supported by Riley Drake's 10 kills. Summer Brandis recorded 27 assists during this match.

Looking ahead, the Lady Blues will play next against Dubuque as part of their continued participation in the Duhawk Classic at noon tomorrow.
