Terre Haute, Ind. - The Illinois College women's volleyball team concluded the Rose-Hulman Invitational with victories against Saint Mary's and Anderson, both matches ending 3-0 in favor of the Lady Blues.
These wins bring the Lady Blues to an 8-9 record for the season as they prepare for upcoming conference play.
In their first match against Saint Mary's, Ella Ausmus and Haylie Orton led the charge with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Kahli O'Neal provided significant support with 20 assists. The Lady Blues achieved a .346 hitting percentage compared to Saint Mary's .299. A standout factor was Illinois College's serving aces, totaling 18, including six from Riley Drake.
The second match saw Ligaya Garibay making a strong impact with 15 kills against Anderson. Summer Brandis contributed with 20 assists, helping to hold Anderson to a .055 hitting percentage. The Lady Blues committed only ten hitting errors while Anderson had 22. Both Ligaya Garibay and Reagan Oster recorded 12 digs each in this match.
Looking ahead, the Lady Blues will face Washington University on Wednesday as they prepare for their conference schedule next week.
