Illinois College volleyball falls to Grinnell in Midwest Conference

The Illinois College volleyball team faced a setback in their recent match against Grinnell College, resulting in a loss in the Midwest Conference competition. The defeat adjusts Illinois College's record to 11-12, while Grinnell improves to 16-5.

The match concluded with Grinnell securing a 3-1 victory over the Lady Blues. After losing the first two sets, Illinois College managed to win the third set with a score of 25-23. However, Grinnell clinched the fourth set, also by 25-23, thus sealing their win.

Illinois College recorded a hitting percentage of .122 compared to Grinnell's .192 during the match. Both teams committed 44 errors each throughout the game.

Key performances for Illinois College included Haylie Orton and Laura Kaiser, who both achieved double-digit kills with ten each. Ligaya Garibay contributed eight kills and led her team with 17 digs. Summer Brandis and Kahli O'Neal were instrumental in setting up plays, contributing a combined total of 40 assists out of the team's overall tally of 41 assists. Reagan Oster added thirteen digs, while Nevaeh Gould and Riley Drake provided twelve digs each.

The Lady Blues are scheduled for another home game against Cornell College on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00 pm.
