Three players from the Illinois College women's volleyball team have been recognized with All-Conference honors, as announced by the league. Laura Kaiser and Ligaya Garibay received First-Team All-Conference selections.
Kaiser, a junior hailing from Chatham, Illinois, achieved a new school record for attack percentage with a .842 hitting percentage after recording 16 kills on 19 attempts in a match against Lawrence. She concluded the regular season with 184 kills and contributed 82 points from blocks, which included 31 solo blocks and 51 block assists.
Ligaya Garibay, a senior from Waukegan, Illinois, built upon her Newcomer of the Year award from last season by earning First-Team honors this year. She led the team's offense throughout the season, finishing with 285 kills and a 3.03 kills-per-set ratio. Additionally, Garibay led the team with 35 service aces and added 291 digs.
Alex Johnson, also a senior from Chatham, Illinois, completed her final season by earning Second-Team All-Conference honors. She tallied 27 service aces and collected 210 digs across just 60 sets.
The Lady Blues ended their regular season with an overall record of 14-14 and went 5-3 in conference play. They are set to begin their postseason with an away match against top-seeded Cornell College on Friday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m.
