Illinois College track team sets three records at Snowbird Open

Three records were broken by the Illinois College men's track and field team during the IC Snowbird Open at King Field House in Jacksonville, Illinois. Dylan Doss, an All-American from last season, set new school records in both the long jump and the 400-meter dash. He achieved a leap of 7.22 meters in the long jump and completed the 400-meter dash in 49.59 seconds.

Devin Boggs also contributed to the record-breaking performances with his effort in the 3,000 meters, clocking a time of 9:15.38. Robby Biesenthal followed closely with a time of 9:16.90, marking it as the second-best performance in school history for that event.

In other events, Melvin Hodge won the weight throw with a distance of 16.85 meters. Deon Rogers secured third place with a throw of 16.35 meters, which ranks fifth in Illinois College history. Saul Hernandez delivered a shot put performance measuring 14.81 meters, ranking fifth best for IC, while Hodge's shot put reached 13.84 meters.

Adam Hernandez finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69 seconds.

The Illinois College team will compete next at the Grinnell Invitational in Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday, starting at 10:00 a.m.
