Rep. Nikki Budzinski, representing Illinois' 13th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through her social media platform. Her recent tweets highlight her stance on scientific research, veterans' housing legislation, and agricultural policies.

On February 10, 2025, Rep. Budzinski expressed concern over the firing of scientists at the UIUC Soybean Innovation Lab by former President Trump. She stated, "Scientists at the UIUC Soybean Innovation Lab were conducting critical research to address food insecurity and create new markets for Illinois farmers. Then Trump fired them." She further declared her unwillingness to remain passive while such actions threaten her constituents' livelihoods.

The following day, February 11, 2025, she shared her support for a legislative initiative aimed at assisting disabled veterans with housing needs. In her words: "Last night, I voted to pass the Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act." Rep. Budzinski emphasized her pride in championing this legislation as a step towards ending veteran homelessness.

Later that day, she participated in a House Agriculture Committee hearing focused on the farm economy's current state. She tweeted: "Today, we had a House Agriculture Committee hearing on the state of the farm economy." The discussions centered around crop insurance and disaster aid are expected to inform future Farm Bill developments beneficial to Illinois growers and producers.
