The Illinois College women's basketball team faced a challenging game against Grinnell College, resulting in a 72-49 loss at their home court, Sherman Gymnasium, in Jacksonville, Illinois. This outcome affected the Lady Blues' overall standing, moving them to 9-13 for the season and 6-8 within their conference. Meanwhile, Grinnell College improved to 16-7 overall and secured a position in third place with a 10-4 conference record.

The Pioneers set the pace early on with an 8-0 run and maintained control throughout the match. Despite shooting only 36% from the field, Grinnell capitalized on free throws, making an impressive 14 out of 16 attempts to secure a significant halftime lead of 16 points.

For Illinois College, Kaity Robison emerged as the leading scorer with 15 points from six successful shots out of ten attempts. Ashlyn Wightman contributed ten points alongside five blocks despite offensive struggles. Jayln Patterson added nine points to the scoreboard for IC, while Raegen Stringer assisted with five passes.

Looking ahead, the Lady Blues are set to play their final game of the year against Knox College on Wednesday at Sherman Gymnasium at 5:30 p.m.
