Rep. Nikki Budzinski, serving in the U.S. Congress for Illinois’ 13th district since 2023, has been vocal about recent political developments through her social media presence. In a series of tweets, she addresses concerns regarding federal funding cuts and their impacts on community projects, as well as administrative decisions affecting labor rights.
On February 13, 2025, Rep. Budzinski expressed concern over the closure of the University of Illinois Soybean Innovation Lab. She attributed this to "the Trump Administration’s attacks on federal funding," emphasizing the importance of highlighting these issues and their effects on communities. "The shuttering of the @UofIllinois Soybean Innovation Lab is just one of the real life impacts of the Trump Administration’s attacks on federal funding. We need to keep amplifying these stories and the impact they have on our communities."
Later that day, Budzinski addressed President Trump's decision to remove Gwynne Wilcox from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). She stated that this action left "the Board without a quorum," thus impeding its function to hold employers accountable for workers' rights violations. Budzinski joined other colleagues in urging the president to reinstate Wilcox through a formal letter."By firing Gwynne Wilcox from the NLRB, President Trump has left the Board without a quorum and shut down its ability to hold bad employers accountable when they violate workers' rights. I joined 265 of my colleagues in a letter to the president calling on him to reinstate her."
In another tweet posted on February 14, 2025, Rep. Budzinski extended Valentine’s Day greetings to her constituents in Illinois’ 13th district."Happy Valentine's Day #IL13!"
