Illinois College's Jayln Patterson has been recognized by the Midwest Conference, earning a spot on the All-Conference Second Team. The announcement was made by the league today.
Patterson, hailing from Plainfield, Illinois, is a junior and this marks her first time receiving all-conference honors. She concluded the season as the ninth top scorer in the conference with an average of 12.8 points per game. Her field goal percentage stood at .472, placing her third in this category within the conference.
Beyond her scoring capabilities for the Lady Blues, Patterson demonstrated strong defensive skills with 32 steals and 22 blocks throughout the season. Her performance in shot-blocking has secured her a place in Illinois College's record books for both career and single-season blocks. Additionally, she achieved a personal best by scoring 32 points in a significant win against Monmouth, which ties for the third-highest score in a single game in the program's history.
Looking ahead to her senior year, Patterson is expected to continue playing a crucial role for the Lady Blues as they aim to capitalize on their momentum from this past season.
