Budzinski criticized former President Donald Trump's tariff policies in a tweet: "Donald Trump's reckless approach to tariffs will not protect American jobs – it will hurt American farmers. China and Canada are major importers of U.S. agricultural products and this trade war unleashed by the president is a disaster for Illinois growers and producers."
Later that day, she addressed potential cuts to special education services: "7.5 million students with disabilities will lose access to special education services funded by the federal government if Trump guts the U.S. Department of Education. I’m proud to stand with @AFTunion on the side of protecting our students, educators and public schools!"
In another tweet posted on March 4, 2025, Budzinski highlighted an event involving Lisa Quandt: "Tonight, Lisa Quandt – a special education teacher from Belleville – will be in the audience as President Trump delivers a joint address to Congress.
