Nikki Budzinski, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 13th district since her election in 2023, has recently voiced her strong opinions on key national issues through a series of tweets. Budzinski, who hails from Peoria, Illinois, and currently resides in Springfield, raised concerns regarding national security, the U.S. Postal Service, and government benefits in her social media posts.

On March 26, 2025, Budzinski called for the resignation or firing of Secretary Hegseth, citing failures that she believes endanger national security. She asserted that ""Secretary Hegseth's carelessness and incompetence put our service members, intelligence officers, and national security in grave danger." Her call for immediate action was made in no uncertain terms, suggesting strong disapproval of Secretary Hegseth's performance.

Later the same day, Budzinski declared her commitment to supporting postal workers in the Midwest. She emphasized the critical role of the Postal Service in local communities by stating, ""In the Midwest, the Postal Service is a lifeline. I will always fight for hardworking postal employees who provide an essential service to our communities."

On March 27, 2025, Budzinski addressed a proposal put forth by House Republicans concerning cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). In her tweet, she expressed that the proposed reductions would have dire consequences: ""Cutting SNAP benefits would raise grocery bills for families, force kids and seniors to go hungry, and hurt the farmers who grow our food. House Republicans’ proposal to slash this critical program is just plain wrong." With this stance, she underscored the potential negative impacts on recipients and the agricultural sector.
