U.S. Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski, representing Illinois' 13th district, took to social media to address several issues pertinent to her constituents. Budzinski, who joined Congress in 2023 after replacing Rodney Davis, expressed her commitment to listening to veterans, supporting Medicaid, and strengthening nursing education.
Budzinski shared her experience of interacting with veterans in her district amid what she describes as "the Trump Administration’s recent attacks on the VA". In a post on March 31, 2025, she said, "As a member of @VetAffairsDems, speaking directly with veterans about their needs in my district is one of the most important parts of my job."
In another post made on the same day, March 31, 2025, she voiced her support for Medicaid, particularly defending it against cuts that could force the disabled into costly nursing homes. Budzinski emphasized the importance of the program, saying, "It DOES make sense to protect this program that allows people like Adam to live independently and be a strong member of their communities."
Later that day, Budzinski expressed her gratitude to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing for visiting her office in Washington, D.C. Highlighting her commitment to nursing education, she wrote on March 31, 2025, "Thanks @AACNursing for stopping by my DC office! Proud to be your partner in strengthening nursing education in Illinois and across the country."
