The Illinois College men's tennis team experienced its first defeat of the season, falling to Southwest Illinois College 5-2 in a dual match held Thursday afternoon at the SWIC Tennis Courts in Belleville, Illinois.

Following this result, Illinois College holds a 3-1 record for the season.

During doubles play, Jeff Wernsing and Adi Basic secured a win for Illinois College at No. 1 doubles with a 6-4 score. However, Southwest Illinois College claimed the overall doubles point by winning the other two matches.

In singles competition, Tejas Zala won at No. 2 singles and Glenn Conway earned a victory at No. 3 singles for Illinois College.

Looking ahead, the Blueboys are scheduled to host Concordia of Chicago on September 27 in their home opener. The match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
