The Illinois College Lady Blues golf team participated in the Dechert Classic at South Side Country Club in Decatur, Illinois, on Friday. The event is hosted by Millikin University and marks the final regular season tournament of the fall for the Lady Blues.
After the first round, the Lady Blues finished in fifth place with a team score of 369. Macie Petropoulos led her team with a score of 85 (+13), placing her in a tie for eighth individually and six shots behind the leaders. The course presented significant challenges during the opening round.
Other contributors to the team's total were Shelby Seiler, who shot an 89, Emily Guest with a 94, and Karlie Basler with a 101. As a group, they are six strokes away from moving into fourth place as they approach the final round.
The team will return to South Side Country Club for the concluding round on Saturday morning, with tee times beginning at 8:00am.
