Macie Petropoulos led the Illinois College Lady Blues golf team at the Dechert Classic in Decatur, Illinois, finishing third after a scorecard playoff. Petropoulos posted a six-over round of 78 on the final day, tying for second place before placing third following the playoff. She had opened with a first-round score of 85 and recorded the lowest round of the tournament on her second day, highlighted by a one-over par front nine and playing her last ten holes at even par.
Her performance contributed to Illinois College's team score of 350, resulting in a fourth-place finish overall. Shelby Seiler also made a strong showing with a 10-over round of 82, finishing in 14th place. Emily Guest and Karlie Basler each shot rounds of 95 to complete the team's scoring.
"This is Petroupolos' fifth top-five on the season in just six tournaments," according to information provided by Illinois College.
The Lady Blues will next compete at the SLIAC Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. The event will be held at Birch Creek Golf Club and is scheduled to begin on October 5.
