State Representative Mike Coffey and Sangamon County Sheriff Paula Crouch will host a Prescription Drug Drop Off Event on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The event will take place at KC Hall, located at 2200 Meadowbrook Rd in Springfield, Illinois, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

The initiative is designed to provide community members with a safe way to dispose of unused or expired medications. Attendees can remain in their vehicles while volunteers collect the items for disposal. Organizers have stated that liquids, creams, needles, and illegal drugs will not be accepted during the event.

"This free event aims to safeguard our community by offering a secure method to dispose of unused or expired medications. For added convenience, attendees can stay in their vehicles as dedicated event volunteers gather their items for disposal," according to the announcement from Rep. Coffey and Sheriff Crouch.

Coffey was elected as a Republican representative to the Illinois State House in 2023 for the state's 95th House District, succeeding Tim Butler.
